Customize your resume and cover letter for each job application. Highlight relevant skills, experiences, and achievements that directly match the requirements of the job you're applying for. Use keywords from the job posting to demonstrate your fit for the role.

Instead of simply listing job responsibilities, emphasize your accomplishments. Use quantifiable metrics and specific examples to illustrate how you've added value in previous roles. Employers appreciate candidates who can demonstrate their impact, whether it be through tangible business goals or awards and accolades.
3. Direct Message the Hiring Manager
Nothing shows more intent than taking the initiative to reach out to decision-makers. If you really want the job, make it known. You may hear back, and you may not, but if nothing else you're improving the odds of your application being seen.
4. Network and Build Relationships
Networking can open doors to job opportunities. Attend industry events, join professional organizations, and connect with professionals in your field on platforms like LinkedIn. Oftentimes times hiring managers hand-select potential candidates and inquire if they're interested in a job. If you're not active on social media, they won't know you exist. Personal connections and recommendations from people in your network can make you stand out to potential employers.
5. Prepare for Interviews
Be well-prepared for interviews by researching the company, practicing common interview questions, and formulating thoughtful questions to ask the interviewer. Additionally, showcase your soft skills, such as communication, problem-solving, and teamwork, as these are highly valued by employers. You can be the most qualified applicant on the planet, but if you don't pass the "vibe check" or you come across as unprepared, you'll leave an underwhelming first impression.
