According to Caswell County deputies, at least 10 people were inside the home when they responded to a 'shots fired call.’

NOW. A DEADLY SHOOTING AT A SLEEPOVER. THE TRIAD TOWN TRYING TO COPE TONIGHT AFTER A SUSPECT OPENS FIRE AT A HOUSE FULL OF GIRLS KILLING A MOTHER AND CHILD. I SAY TO ANY PARENT, PLEASE DON’T GIVE UP. PLEASE DON’T GIVE UP. A HEARTBROKEN MOTHER ABLE TO SLEEP A LITTLE EASIER TONIGHT. THREE YEARS AFTER LOSING HER SON TO GUN VIOLENCE, AN ARREST IN THE CASE. TONIGHT, A COMMUNITY IN CASWELL COUNTY IS STILL TRYING TO PROCESS THE HORRIFIC EVENTS THAT OCCURRED OVER THE WEEKEND. DEPUTIES SAY A MAN OPENED FIRE DURING A SLEEPOVER AT A HOME ON CHERRY GROVE ROAD IN REIDSVILLE. A MOTHER AND DAUGHTER WERE KILLED. TWO OTHER PEOPLE WERE WOUNDED. WE GET THE STORY TONIGHT FROM KARA PETERS. WHETHER THEY’VE LIVED IN THE AREA FOR TWO YEARS OR 20 YEARS, NEIGHBORS SAY IT’S ALWAYS BEEN RELATIVELY QUIET FOR THEM. AND NOW, AFTER SATURDAY’S DEADLY SHOOTING, THEY SAY THEY’RE DEVASTATED FOR THE VICTIMS FAMILIES AND THE CHILDREN THAT HAD TO WITNESS WHAT HAPPENED, WHAT THOSE KIDS ARE GOING TO GO THROUGH IS MORE THAN ANYBODY CAN BEAR. ANITA WALKER BROUGHT TO TEARS DESCRIBING THE SHOCKING NEWS THAT OCCURRED IN HER COMMUNITY OVER THE WEEKEND. I FEEL FOR THEM BECAUSE I HAVE KIDS AND GRANDKIDS, AND MY KIDS AND GRANDKIDS HAVE ALL HAD GOOD LIVES AND NEVER HAD TO DEAL WITH ANYTHING LIKE THIS. BUT THEY WERE CALLING ME YESTERDAY HOW HOW I WAS FEELING ABOUT IT, AND I GOT VERY EMOTIONAL. ACCORDING TO CASWELL COUNTY DEPUTIES, AT LEAST TEN PEOPLE WERE INSIDE THE HOME WHEN THEY RESPONDED TO A SHOTS FIRED CALL. 37 YEAR OLD DANIELLE HINES, WHO SERVED AS A CORRECTIONS OFFICER WITH THE NORTH CAROLINA DEPARTMENT OF ADULT CORRECTIONS, AND HER DAUGHTER WERE KILLED. SHE WAS A STUDENT AT BARTLETT YANCEY SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL. THE SCHOOL SUPERINTENDENT SAYS THE SHOOTING HAPPENED DURING A SLEEPOVER, WHERE DEPUTIES SAY TWO OTHER CHILDREN WERE ALSO SHOT. THEY WERE TAKEN TO THE HOSPITAL FOR THEIR INJURIES. WE’RE ALL JUST REALLY JUST CONCERNED AND EVERYTHING FOR THE KIDS, THE FAMILIES. UM, IT’S GOT TO BE TRAUMATIZING FOR THE ONES THAT WAS THERE THAT DIDN’T GET HURT. WE JUST PRAY FOR ALL OF THAT. DEPUTIES ALSO IDENTIFY THE SUSPECT AS ANTHONY SILER. THEY SAY HE DIED BY SUICIDE AFTER ALAMANCE COUNTY DEPUTIES TRIED TO PULL HIM OVER. NOW, NEIGHBORS WHO LIVE NEAR CHERRY GROVE ROAD SAY THEY ARE HEARTBROKEN THAT A NIGHT THAT WAS SUPPOSED TO BE FUN FOR KIDS TURNED TRAGIC. LIKE, TO ME, IT’S IT’S DEVASTATING TO THINK YOU JUST CAME BACK FROM A FUN DAY AT THE ZOO, AND THEY WERE GOING TO SPEND THE NIGHT WITH HER, AND THEY WERE GOING TO HAVE A GOOD TIME. AND HE WALKS IN AND JUST TAKES ALL THAT AWAY. FOLLOWING THE SHOOTING, SCHOOL LEADERS ACTIVATED THEIR CRISIS TEAM, BRINGING IN GUIDANCE COUNSELORS AND ADDITIONAL STAFF TO SPEAK WITH STUDENTS IN CASWEL

A community is in mourning after a mother and her child were killed in a quadruple shooting over the weekend in Reidsville. Anita Walker, who has lived in the area for two years emotionally described the deadly event that occurred in her community over the weekend."I feel for them because I have kids and grandkids and they never had to deal with anything like this," Walker said. "And they were calling me yesterday on how I was feeling about it and I go, very emotional."According to Caswell County deputies, at least 10 people were inside the home when they responded to a “shots fired call.”Thirty-seven-year-old Danielle Hines, who served as a corrections officer with the NC Department of Adult Correction, and her child were killed. Her child was a student at Bartlett Yancey Senior High School. The school's superintendent said the shooting happened during a sleepover.Deputies say two other children were also shot. They were taken to the hospital for their injuries."We're just all really concerned for the kids, the families. It's got to be traumatizing for the ones that were there that didn't get hurt, we just pray for all of that,” another neighbor said.Deputies also identified the suspect as Anthony Siler. Thirty-seven-year-old Danielle Hines, who served as a corrections officer with the NC Department of Adult Correction, and her child were killed.

Her child was a student at Bartlett Yancey Senior High School. The school's superintendent said the shooting happened during a sleepover.

Deputies say two other children were also shot. They were taken to the hospital for their injuries.

"We're just all really concerned for the kids, the families. It's got to be traumatizing for the ones that were there that didn't get hurt, we just pray for all of that,” another neighbor said.

Deputies also identified the suspect as Anthony Siler. They say he died by suicide after Alamance County deputies tried to pull him over.
