Jackson Hot Air Jubilee 2024. The Jackson Hot Air Jubilee returns for the 41st year on July 19-21, 2024. Enjoy a variety of festivities, including car shows, vendors, family activities and of course, the beauty of multiple hot air balloons as they take to the skies over Jackson County, Michigan. For the second year, the Hot Air Jubilee acts as a finale event to the US Women’s National Balloon Championship the week leading up to the event. The Jubilee offer kids activities inside the FREE Kids kingdom tent, there are food trucks, beer tent, helicopter rides and other activities. In addition to the event activities Ella Sharp offers a museum, hiking trails, disc golf course and a putt putt course. Palooza at the Falls. 5 PM. Join us on July 19th at 5PM for a fun filled night! There will be live music by Mobile Dueling Pianos, a lineup of food trucks and a beer tent! $5 per person, $4 ages 65+. Cascade Falls.

Grand River Farmers Market. 9 AM to 2 PM. You’re invited to join us riverside for a healthy dose of good food, good music, and good community! We’ve got dozens of weekly rotating vendors offering Seasonal fruits & veggies, meats, cheeses, coffee, honey, pasta, artisan breads, baked goods, dairy, plants, flowers, bath and body, hand-crafted artisan wares, and more! Entertainment and food truck. We’ve also got prepared food and frozen make-n-take dinners. We’ll be open rain or shine – hope to see you there! Glick and Mechanic, Downtown Jackson.

Jackson College Astronomical Observatory Public Viewing. 9 PM to 11 PM. Jackson College’s new Astronomical Observatory will hold public viewing nights on Wednesdays and Fridays, 9-11 p.m. (weather permitting) now through the month of July. Viewing nights provide the public with an opportunity to look through the new high-tech telescope to see the planets, the moon and stars. Astronomical Observatory Coordinator Talia Burns will be available to explain what guests may be looking at and to answer any related questions. Guests are also welcome to bring their own telescopes; the site has an outdoor platform area with several piers for amateur astronomers. Those interested are advised to check the weather beforehand. The telescope is ADA compliant and accessible to people in wheelchairs. When entering Central Campus from Emmons Road, take the service drive to the left; the observatory is just beyond the softball and baseball fields.

Vineyard Jams at Cherry Creek Cellars. Vineyard Jams. Every Friday and Saturday evening from 7-10 PM on the Cherry Creek stage, enjoy some of the best bands in the area. From rock ‘n roll, to blues, and country and pop, there is something for everyone. Beer, Wine, Wine Slushies, & Cider (No Flights during live music). Rotating Food Trucks. Limited Cafe’ Menu (no outside food or beverages). Lawn Chairs welcome. Open to all ages. $5 Cover Charge – Free for anyone 17 and under. Marcus & Tiffany Shelton at Veritas. 6 PM to 9 PM. Marcus and Tiffany Shelton are classically trained singers who have been married for over 20 years. In his longtime opera career, Marcus was honored to sing on stages around the world, and with some of the biggest names in the business; and Tiffany has largely focused her music degree and velvety pipes on jazz and musical theatre. Originally from the Seattle area, they are now a dynamic duo in SE Michigan; surprising and delighting crowds at restaurants, bars, wineries, and special events with their unique and often powerful take on familiar favorites. They will be performing their signature mix of genres and styles, including: classic rock, opera, 90s alternative, mellow 70s gold, country, big band favorites, and more! Requests always welcome. A Tribute to Jim Judge Concert Event. 4 PM. Free! Join us for a free event honoring the influence of Jim Judge on the Jackson Music Scene. Many performances by Jackson area veterans and newer performers. Special guests include: Laith Al-Saadi, Bob Schultz, Maggie Schultz, Doug Decker, Greg Dixon, Mike McGivern, Steve Goss, David Huber, Gary Myers, Larry Sumner, and many more.
