Does GPA Matter for Investment Banking Jobs?
Yes, GPA matters!Bulge bracket banks and almost all otherinvestment banks will look at your GPA when applying for a job and you should includeit in your resume.
Typically banks screen resumes based on GPA and will often remove anyone below 3.5. However, there is room for an exception here, and exceptional experience may bypass GPA requirements if one can prove competency or high value to the bank. Use the GPA conversion below and include the number on your resume.

What Should I Do if I Have a Low GPA?
The best way to manage your GPA on your resume is to frame it. Create a custom GPA for a subset of courses – Major GPA, Finance GPA, 3rd Year GPA, etc., until you find a way that it looks decent. In the interview you should explain why you created a subset or special GPA instead of just including your total average.

FAQs
Most high schools and colleges have their own conversion scales, but generally, you can convert your GPA by dividing your average by 25 and then converting the result to the 4.0 scale. For example: if your average on a 100-point scale is 90, you'd divide that by 25 (which equals 3.6), and round to the nearest tenth.

What is a 103.5 GPA to a 4.0 scale? ›

Is a 3.0 GPA good? ›
A 3.0 GPA implies performing well in all classes, and that's a great place to start the college application process. Admissions officers from many schools will see that GPA and recognize that it meets their criteria for enrollment. Keep practicing the study habits that led to a 3.0 GPA in the first place.
Is a 94% a 4.0 GPA? ›
As we learned above, a 94% is a 4.0 GPA, and a solid “A.” So, if you are shooting for a cumulative GPA of 3.8, your 94% will work its magic and help you out. If, however, your grade for that final is an 89%, which translates to a “B+” or 3.3-3.6 GPA, you can see how that will fall short of your 3.8 GPA goal.
Is a 95 still a 4.0 GPA? ›
If your school uses a 90-100 scale for an A, then an average of 95 would be equivalent to a 4.0 GPA. If your school has a different grading scale, you can calculate your GPA by matching the percentage to the corresponding grade point value (A=4.0, B=3.0, etc.), and then taking the average of those values.
Will one B ruin a 4.0 GPA in college? ›
Will a single 'B' ruin my 4.0 GPA? A single 'B' can lower your GPA from a perfect 4.0, but the impact depends on the number of classes you have taken and their credit hours. However, a strong overall academic record with one 'B' is still highly regarded.

Is a 2.5 GPA good? ›
The answer is No. The national average for a GPA is around 3.0 and a 2.5 GPA puts you below that average. A 2.5 GPA means that you've gotten only C-s and D+s in your high school classes so far. Since this GPA is significantly below a 2.0, it will make things very difficult for you in the college application process.
In some high schools, AP and IB classes have a weighted GPA scale where an A in those classes is worth 5.0 points instead of the typical 4.0 points for a regular class. In this case, if a student takes all AP or IB courses and receives straight A's in every subject, they can achieve a 5.0 GPA.
