What a great find! Stopped here for drinks (try the Huckleberry Gin!), and we were so happy with the atmosphere and impeccable bar service (courtesy of Max), we stayed long enough to develop an appetite. The food was FANTASTIC. The drinks were DREAMY. Stop in and get all the happy feels. :)

¡Volveremos!(Original)My husband and I came here to celebrate our anniversary and we certainly felt special! The service was fantastic including extra celebratory goodies like champagne and dessert. We ordered the duck flappers, mushroom ravioli, and beef tenderloin. Each dish was very tasty and their timing was great. The cocktails were equally delish and well-balanced. We’ll be back!

This is the best resturant in Mountain Village in my opinion. Most of Telluride was shut down for indoor dining last winter so the Black Iron Kitchen in particular was a great place to dine as you could eat out side in front of fireplaces or heaters. The food was great and the service was outstanding. We loved the menu and will definitely be back!

Both the burger and the ham and cheese were good. The staff was kind and quick the atmosphere was perfect, there was a bit of chill the air so they had the fire places going.

The food here is delish! We have had breakfast and dinner here, both are great! The French toast and waffles are some of the best, and my wilderness bowl was perfection. The buttermilk biscuit was one of the best I’ve had. The service is friendly and accommodating… be patient as sometimes they are short staffed, but they make up for it with excellent dishes and polite service.

Expectations were high, and Black Iron exceeded them. The shared plate we ordered was exquisite. Seriously, how does one make even the potatoes taste so good! Friendly and attentive service. Beautiful setting and atmosphere. Happy!

Good fleatbread and truffle oil, good salad, crazy awesome drink, a cucumber pomegranate mocktail and whiskey sour. Amazing elk and roasted veggies the blueberry au jus that came with it was to die for. Best meal we had the entire trip

Bebidas muy caras 20 dólares y cambio por una margarita.(Original)Burger was excellent… one of the best I can remember eating in the past few years. Drinks very pricey 20 dollars and change for a margarita.

El plato es enorme todo está delicioso.(Original)Not sure why the rating is so low. I really enjoyed the food here. I stayed at this hotel, so all I need is just walk down to dine. They have indoor and outdoor seatings (outdoor with heat lamp but still recommend to sit inside so the food don’t get cold)The place gets busy so the service might be a bit slow, the host was also our waiter for the night. We went ahead and got the order from the feast which is a 20oz elk steak. Which is perfect for two person to share. It’s cooked to the perfection, with side of sweet potato, finger potato, sweet onion and carrots. The plate is huge everything is delicious.

Some friends and I ate here for lunch while skiing on the mountain. Service lacked from the start. We waited a long time for water and were never asked if we wanted any other drinks. We ordered an appetizer, fondue, which was interesting. The cheese was delicious, but the sides were odd and overall, the appetizer was way overpriced. Two of us had chicken sandwiches, which were awesome. However, they were served with homemade potato chips that were terrible. Lay's would have been better. My other friend had soup, which he thoroughly enjoyed. The best part of the experience was the atmosphere, followed by the food. Service lacked, but that is common these days, even for an upscale place like Mountain Village/Telluride.

When we dined at Black Iron the Google ratings were 3.8. We held out for DAYS because of this. Finally, after 3 days we figured we might as well try it before we leave the next day. When I say do not sleep on this… Do.Not.Sleep.On.This.These low star reviews are insane. We are Chicago, regular Michelin star foodies. My man is top for food amount consumption per body weight in the world. All that aside here is what we experienced…Amy Joe - amazing server.Courses timed properly, attentive, great recommendations and suggestions.Prawns + Spring Lettuces + Stone Fruit and Tomato salad to start - Perfectenschlag.Entree Game…Half Chicken - Gorgeous. Morels.Need I say more?Trout - Holy guacamole. Best trout experience I’ve ever had. Hazelnuts and trout and Italian sausage?! Who knew this was the food Trinity I’ve been missing my whole life.32 oz porter house - Told you my dude eats. It was brilliant. We eat steak like 3x a week. This was a nice elevation to our regular steak routine. All this to say, I don’t leave a lot of reviews. But we are very annoyed that we delayed our experience here because of other bad reviews. It’s delicious. Sit by the fire and enjoy a good glass of wine and great food.If things were bad in the past, they def have course corrected and you should give them a go.

Nah, at Black Iron Kitchen & Bar in Mountain Village, Colorado, the early bird gets a blissful breakfast and a dash of solitude. We may have been among the first patrons at the crack of dawn, but hey, who can blame us? With a menu that entices the senses and service as crisp as the morning air, an early start was inevitable! Our seat of choice was a sun-kissed spot outdoors, right next to their fire pits. As we nestled down, the thermometer barely touching 42°F, the fiery warmth was a delightful counterpoint to the morning chill, much like savoring hot chocolate on a ski slope. The menu was a tantalizing exhibition of healthy breakfast specials, but our rebellious streak couldn’t be tamed. Shunning the prearranged, we dove straight into the ‘Al La Carte’ section, because why not add a sprinkle of surprise to our sunrise? My morning palette was graced with their oatmeal, an earthy symphony completed with a side of crispy heritage bacon – a crunch to wake me up better than any alarm clock! On the other hand, my husband embarked on a culinary expedition with a buttermilk biscuit, bacon, and eggs over medium – a classic symphony of breakfast favorites. In retrospect, our entire experience felt like we were living in a picture-perfect postcard, with the Black Iron Kitchen & Bar as the featured image. It was a welcome haven from the relentless furnace that was Houston, Texas, providing us with a refreshing sanctuary of sub-100°F temperatures!Just as we were finishing our morning feast, the proverbial ‘breakfast crowd’ started to make their grand entrance. But we had already savored the peace, solitude, and gastronomic delights of the early morning. A crowning achievement? Absolutely! We’d done breakfast, Black Iron style, and it was a meal that would echo in our memories for weeks to come.

The picture below is 32 OZ MAGYU butcher cut for $250. About half of it is fat and served cold. If you want to have ruined night visit them. No wonder they have low rating.

We stayed at the hotel, with a breakfast credit, so we ate at this restaurant almost every day for breakfast, for 6 or so mornings. We also ate there twice for dinner. Overall, the food is average at best, with some instances where the food was not thoroughly cooked or arrived cold. The service was quite slow as well on some days. The burger was ok on one day, but the bun was quite soggy on arrival. The churros for dessert were raw and not cooked. The waffles one day were also not cooked, and the pancakes arrived cold. The food is way over-priced, given that the restaurant is part of the 5-star hotel Madeline (which itself was not what we were hoping for). Overall, we found this restaurant to be disappointing and not living up to what one might expect at a 5-star hotel, with the cost just not even remotely correlating with the quality.

I was hesitant to come here after looking at some of the Google reviews, but we were very impressed by this place. I don’t know if it is under new management or what, but our waitress was very knowledgeable and attentive, service was very fast and the food delicious, and a manager even stopped by our table to make sure everything was good. The cocktails here are unique and very well prepared, the elk chili came with a very unique and delicious sweet flat bread, the fish was perfectly cooked and seasoned (and I’m not a fish fan) and the beef tar tar was very flavorful. Full stars. Would come again. Don’t be scared off by the negative reviews.

Worst meal in Telluride! Bad tasting tomatoes in the heirloom tomato and stone fruit salad, really poor seasoning. Lots of sharp bones in the trout. Green beans were completely raw with no seasoning. If you come to Black Iron, only get the hamburger. Surely it would be okay, but I don't know about even that.

We ordered the trout at $48, when they bought it to the table, it was 1/2 a banana in size…. With very few green beans, very hard. We asked to see the manager, no manager but our waiter offered a replacement meal. They didn’t charge us for the entree… I ordered the smash burger it was very good…. $22 for a simple margarita

A great spot for a guaranteed amazing dinner. The food is always spot on and the service is great. My only critique would be...for a $250/ person type of place, the TV shouldn't be showing sports. Maybe Telluride scenery. I would expect games to be on for a lunch or a sports bar. Won't keep me away but just saying that it cheapens the quality.

Delicious meal and great ambiance! We ordered the whole chicken platter “to share” and it was amazing. The sauce for the chicken was sooo good! Really enjoyed it, and it was perfect for 3 people to share. For dessert we had the basque cheesecake with bourbon caramel and OMG. My mouth was in heaven. Not sure why they only have a 3.7 rating, I highly recommend this restaurant for a cozy dinner in Mountain Village!
