We are introduced to the main character Hana, who has the secret family curse of turning into a dog after having her first kiss. However, to break the curse, she has to get kissed again by the same person. An interesting manhwa with many interesting characters is “Cherry Boy, That Girl”. This manhwa by South Ant touches on many high-school themes when it comes to relationships. Berry or Strawberry Shin has the upper hand in her school as she is not only very pretty but also one of the few female students at school. She has a boyfriend named Pear or Pierre Kang. However, her relationship isn’t as smooth-going because of Pear’s best friend, Wally or Walnut Kang, who hates her. Not only this, but her ex-boyfriend, Darin or Kim Mandarin also causes trouble as he doesn’t approve of her relationship with Pear.

Not only this, but Darin is even prettier than Berry, which makes Berry’s narcissistic personality boil with jealousy. Eventually, Darin decides to cross-dress as Cherry Kim, a transfer student, and seduce Pear to make the couple break up, a plan that seems to be working well. In this turmoil, we are let in on the reasons behind Wally’s “hate” for Berry.

This is a wholesome manhwa that was written and illustrated by Han Kyoung Chal. Although this manhwa has a good amount of romance, it also touches on themes related to self-discovery and finding one’s true colors without having to change the colors in one’s palette. Again, the story of this webtoon may not be very similar to Cheese in the Trap. However, they share good and strong female leads as well as some themes.
